GLAM FOOT, A SUCCESSFUL FIRST EDITION

A Celebration of Sport and Solidarity Unites Legends, Influencers, and Charitable Causes in Monaco

GLAM FOOT: A Vibrant Kickoff to a Promising Legacy

GLAM FOOT: A SUCCESSFUL FIRST EDITION

The inaugural GLAM FOOT event took place on Tuesday, June 27, in Monaco.

As planned, the four announced teams participated, each striving to claim the trophy designed by artist ACIDE ART.

Held at the Espace Saint-Antoine, the tournament balanced both sporting and charitable objectives.

During the offseason, players like Tiémoué Bakayoko and Éric Bailly (both representing JPK HEALTHCARE) seized the opportunity to entertain the audience with their skills. The event was filled with technical displays and light-hearted fun.

Spin moves, dribbles, quick plays, and a flurry of goals… everything came together to make this first chapter of “GLAM FOOT” a resounding success.

Beyond the cheerful atmosphere and camaraderie, participants showed genuine commitment to the causes they were supporting.

Despite an end-of-season injury, Anthony Martial attended the event to sponsor the competition he played a key role in initiating.

As the honorary president of the “GLAM FOOT” association, Martial supported his team throughout the afternoon.

Louis Ducruet, president of the Barbagiuans, demonstrated the same unwavering dedication. Ever-determined, the nephew of Prince Albert II gave his all, as did his teammates.

Even without a football background, influencer SISIK held his own against professional players. Alongside partners from the influencer sphere, like Laurent Correia and Emine, SISIK proudly represented “OR BLEU,” the association he ambassadors. His team also featured six-time world boxing champion Hassan N’DAM (“El Fenomeno”), creating a strong, united, and competitive group.

Monaco-based boxer Hugo Micallef, deeply inspired by the principality’s charitable values, supported the event with his presence at the sidelines.

RESULTS

  • Match duration: 2×10 minutes
  • After all teams faced off, initial rankings were established, setting up a third-place match and the grand finale.

Third-place match: VICTORY FOR TEAM BARBAGIUANS OVER TEAM SISIK
Final: VICTORY FOR TEAM ANTHONY MARTIAL OVER TEAM JPK

Anthony Martial:
“I’m really happy with this first edition, which was both friendly and family-oriented. Plus, my team won—I’m thrilled! I can’t wait to return next year and see this wonderful event continue to grow.”

Louis Ducruet:
“I’m pleased with the dedication shown by all participants. GLAM FOOT was a success, and I feel everyone enjoyed being together. This concept has great potential and will likely return next year, hopefully at a date that will attract an even larger audience.”

A successful first edition that promises more to come…

THE MATCH

From the very first minutes of play, the CIRQUE FC, led by a great Clarence Seedorf, controlled ball possession and created the first clear chances. Determined to find the path to victory, the team of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie dominated the game and opened the scoring through Youri Djorkaeff. 1/0 for CIRQUE FC

Not satisfied, the circadian formation continued their momentum and prevented the Barbagiuans from creating any clear chances. Always united, they delayed the inevitable several times but could not stop what seemed unavoidable… the second goal for CIRQUE FC came from Clarence Seedorf, omnipresent on the pitch. A goal that cemented their total domination for the time being by the team of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie. 2/0 for CIRQUE FC

Attacks on the Barbagiuans of Monaco goal multiplied and challenged the historic defensive duo of AS MONACO, Sébastien Squillaci and Gaël Givet.

The latter was forced to commit a foul in the penalty area, leading to a penalty. The sovereign called for VAR (which was, of course, not available…) in vain. 3/0 for CIRQUE FC, with a goal from Robert Pires, who wrong-footed Daniel Subasic.

The halftime whistle blew, and the crowd enjoyed a show by the Paris firefighters, right in front of the royal box.

At the start of the second half, the tide turned completely… Reinvigorated, the Barbagiuans of Monaco reversed the course of the match, creating several dangerous chances. Ball possession shifted to their side, and CIRQUE FC struggled to get out of their own half. The Barbagiuans were not going to give up the trophy so easily… Logically, the team of H.S.H. Prince Albert II reduced the deficit… Who better than Javier Ernesto Chevanton, last year’s man of the match, to score and put the Barbagiuans back on track? 3/1

A few minutes later, Chevanton scored again, but his goal was disallowed for an offside position ruled by referee Gaël Angoula. Despite friendly protests from the sovereign, the score remained unchanged.

The Uruguayan struck again shortly afterward, bringing the Barbagiuans to 3/2 with a brilliant right-footed finish through the opposing defenders.

A few minutes before the end of the game, the pace stabilized, and despite a few chances on both sides, the score remained unchanged, and CIRQUE FC won 3/2, just as the Barbagiuans had done the previous year.

Gathered for a good cause, it was time for the players to celebrate their presence on the field together.

The trophy was presented to the team of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, delighted to return to victory in this FIGHT AIDS CUP!

At the Barbagiuans gala, Youri Djorkaeff received the man of the match trophy from the hands of the sovereign, succeeding Javier Ernesto Chevanton, who also scored a brace this year.

Sébastien Frey, captain of CIRQUE FC:

“I’m thrilled to have won the FIGHT AIDS CUP for the third time. The princess shared her joy with me and thanked us, along with all the players.”

“Once again this year, significant funds were raised for FIGHT AIDS MONACO, which is why we are here. The goal has been achieved, the event keeps growing year after year, improving as it goes… enough to look ahead to future editions with ambition and confidence. I thank the royal family and congratulate Louis Ducruet, the central figure in organizing this gala evening.”

“We will be back next year to continue this momentum and, of course, to defend the trophy.”

Louis Ducruet, president of the Barbagiuans and event organizer:

“This fourth edition lived up to all its promises. I am proud to see the FIGHT AIDS CUP evolving, always with the presence and support of football legends. The goal is to shine a light on the association, and once again, this has been achieved. I know the funds raised will be used wisely, and I am delighted to contribute to the development and sustainability of FIGHT AIDS MONACO through the organization of this event. Of course, there’s a little bitterness about the defeat; I would have liked to keep the title for another year, but that’s the way it is. I saw that the participants enjoyed themselves, as did the audience, and that’s what really matters. Congratulations to CIRQUE FC, and we will return next year for a sporting result that, hopefully, will favor the Barbagiuans.”
